James Shagawat, B.A., MBA , NAPFA - Registered Financial Adviser, (jamess@baron-financial.com), is a Wealth Management Principal with the Baron Financial Group.
Jim is a graduate of Rutgers University Graduate School of Management and William Paterson University. He received his masters in business administration (M. B.A.) with concentrations in finance and marketing. Jim was the recipient of numerous academic awards and scholarships during his studies. He is currently enrolled in the Certified Financial Planning Professional Education program with the College for Financial Planning. Jim is a recipient of the 2010 & 2011 Five Star Wealth Manager Award.
Before his affiliation with Baron, Jim worked at the senior level in finance at several Fortune 500 companies, including Bertelsmann Music Group and Pearson Education. As a result of his academic and work experience, Jim brings a strong finance background to the Baron Financial Group.
Jim appears in such national publications as The Wall Street Journal, Smart Money Magazine, Bottom Line, Bloomberg, Dow Jones Newswire and on broadcast television, including PBS' Nightly Business Report.
Jim is also an award-winning composer of soundtrack music. His music has been heard internationally on television and radio. He is a member of The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), The Greater New Jersey Estate Planning Council, the Financial Planning Association, and the Rutgers Alumni Association. He is on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton.
Jim is married and lives with his wife and two children, Roger and Rosemary. He enjoys music and movies.
